CAPTIVATING AMETHYST CHOCOLATE. A new breeding line by Sofia Saakova, developed from the well-known Captivating Amethyst. Derived from the cross Striped Shell × Black Beauty, F6 generation (2025). During the selection process, the line separated into two forms—Chocolate and Pink. A mid-early indeterminate variety. In open ground, plants reach about 1.2 m (4 ft), forming vigorous, well-foliated bushes with broad, dense leaves.
The plants show excellent vigor and stable performance. Fruits are large, flattened-round, weighing 250–300 g (9–11 oz). The main color is rich chocolate-brown, while the shoulders display a subtle anthocyanin blush. The skin is thin but durable, with fruits holding their shape well and showing good crack resistance. When sliced, the flesh is soft raspberry-pink, juicy, moderately dense, and highly aromatic. The texture is smooth and pleasantly meaty without excessive juiciness.
FLAVOR
The flavor is harmonious, with an excellent balance of sweetness and mild acidity. A rich aroma complements the juicy raspberry-colored flesh, making the fruits ideal for fresh salads and tasting. Captivating Amethyst Chocolate is an exciting breeding line for collectors and enthusiasts of unusual dark-fruited tomatoes. Its chocolate-colored skin, delicate anthocyanin shoulders, and tender raspberry flesh give it exceptional appeal.
