CAPTIVATING AMETHYST. Authorial breeding by Sofia Saakova and Zhelagina. An expressive, deeply colored variety with powerful energy and a noble taste, created by Sofia Saakova. Obtained as a result of pollinating Striped Shell × Black Beauty, which is immediately reflected in the richness of its anthocyanin coloring and the complexity of its flavor profile. The variety is mid-season. The plants are sturdy, powerful, with thick stems and dense, broad foliage that protects the fruits well from sunburn. In open ground conditions, the bush height reaches about 1.5 meters.
The bushes look very substantial, confidently hold large fruits, and demonstrate good resilience throughout the season. The fruits are round-flattened, neat, with light, elegant ribs. A distinctive feature of the variety is its very high anthocyanin content, thanks to which the tomatoes acquire rich purple-amethyst and dark purple hues. The fruits look impressive and premium, especially under good lighting. The average fruit weight most often is 300-400 g, with individual specimens being slightly larger. The skin is thin but strong, not prone to cracking.
The flesh is tender-raspberry, of medium density, very juicy and aromatic, with a beautiful cut. The number of seed chambers is moderate, and the flesh structure is harmonious. The flavor is rich, balanced, and deep: a pronounced sweetness combines perfectly with a soft, refreshing acidity. The flavor profile is full, "mature," without imbalances, with a pleasant long aftertaste. This is a variety equally valued for both its appearance and its gastronomic pleasure.
