CASCADE RASPBERRY. One of the three highly productive varieties in the Cascade series, which also includes yellow and red forms. A mid-early cherry tomato with an extended, continuous harvest until the first frost. Indeterminate and extremely vigorous, plants easily reach 2.0 m (6.5 ft) in open ground and continue growing throughout the season. Strong stems produce very few side shoots, making the variety well suited to training with 3-4 stems. Semi-compound and compound trusses develop abundantly along the entire length of the plant. The fruits are round, rich raspberry-pink, weighing 25-30 g (0.9-1.1 oz).
They are uniform, attractive, crack-resistant, do not drop from the trusses, and retain their excellent marketable appearance. The skin is firm, providing outstanding transportability and storage life. A versatile variety, ideal for fresh eating, whole-fruit canning, freezing, drying, sauces, and a wide range of homemade preserves. The flesh is dense, meaty, and juicy, with two small seed cavities. The flavor is sweet and well balanced, with pleasant fruity notes and a rich tomato aroma. One of the most productive and best-tasting cherry tomato varieties for open-ground cultivation.
