CHERRY SYRUP. One of the new varieties bred by Russian tomato breeder Sofia Saakova. A mid-season, indeterminate, vigorous, and tall-growing variety that reaches about 1.5 m in open ground. The plant develops strong stems and well-foliaged bushes that require staking and pruning. The fruits are heart-shaped with pronounced ribbing, very attractive in appearance. Their coloration is unusual — cherry-chocolate with a characteristic green shoulder near the stem. As the fruits ripen fully, the green spot almost disappears. Average fruit weight is 250-350 g, but under favorable growing conditions, individual specimens can be larger.
The flesh is dense, meaty, and at the same time very juicy, with a rich old-fashioned flavor, where sweetness and light acidity are perfectly balanced. This taste is especially appreciated by tomato enthusiasts and collectors. The fruits are excellent for fresh consumption, juice and sauce preparation, as well as for roasting and preserving in slices. The variety is characterized by high productivity, stable fruit setting, and attractive market appearance. Ideal for cultivation in open ground and greenhouses, it responds well to organic feeding and training into 1-2 stems.
