CHOCOLATE CHAMPION, USA. An early-ripening, determinate tomato variety developed by crossing the legendary Dwarf Champion and Cherokee Chocolate. The plant forms compact, tidy bushes up to 70 cm tall in open ground. The bush resembles a miniature tree with characteristically twisted, potato-like foliage. This structure gives the plant a decorative look and makes it particularly well-suited for growing in small spaces.
This variety is a striking example of successful dwarf tomato breeding, combining plant compactness with high fruit quality. Fruits are medium-sized, weighing from 140 to 280 grams, firm and resilient to the touch, with a rich dark red skin. Occasionally, a light brownish-maroon hue may appear. The flesh is meaty, juicy, with a beautiful purple tint and a delicate, creamy texture that literally melts in the mouth.
Flavor is one of the variety’s key strengths — rich, intense, slightly sweet, with subtle spicy notes and well-balanced acidity. The aroma is refined, delicate, with a warm tomato bouquet. In taste and aroma, the fruits are very close to Cherokee Chocolate, but Chocolate Champion plants are more compact and mature significantly earlier. Excellent for making sauces and tomato purée, where its rich flavor and velvety texture are especially well expressed.
