COSTOLUTO GENOVESE SEL VALENTE. An old Italian classic known since the early 19th century — a true benchmark of taste and quality, tested by time. This variety comes from sunny Italy, where it is still highly valued for its reliable yields and excellent fruit characteristics. It is a mid-season indeterminate tomato that forms strong, tall plants over 1.5 meters high in open ground.
The plants require staking and pruning, but with proper care, they reward growers with abundant harvests. The fruits are flat-round, heavily ribbed, and visually striking. Their skin is deep red with a glossy shine. The flesh is dense, meaty, aromatic, and flavorful — sweet with a slight tang. The tomatoes are resistant to cracking, free from spots, and store and transport well.
Fruit weight ranges from 80 to 200 grams. Perfect for fresh salads as well as classic Italian sauces, pasta, and pizza. In Italy, this variety is considered a standard of tomato flavor and is highly popular among professional chefs. We were impressed by its rich flavor and expressive tomato aroma. The seeds for our collection were sourced in France.
