GRANDMA OLIVER’S CHOCOLATE. A mid-season, tall, and productive tomato variety that attracts attention with its unusual fruit coloration and rich flavor. The plants are indeterminate, usually reaching 1.8 m in height, but under favorable conditions they can grow to 2–2.5 m. The bushes require sturdy support, timely tying, and regular removal of side shoots.
The fruits are large, flat-round, and slightly flattened, generally weighing 150–300 g, with an average weight of around 200 g. As they ripen, they develop a chocolate-red or chocolate-brown color. The dark olive-green shoulders give the tomatoes a distinctive appearance and create a beautiful contrast with the main color.
The flesh is red, juicy, and meaty, with a sweet, rich, and well-balanced flavor typical of dark-fruited tomatoes. The large fruits are excellent for fresh eating, salads, slicing, and a variety of summer dishes. Their combination of original appearance and excellent flavor makes them especially appealing to lovers of unusual tomatoes.
With proper care, the tall plants can produce a generous harvest throughout the season. This tomato is an excellent addition to any collection thanks to its large fruits, unusual chocolate coloration, and distinctive sweet flavor. The combination of high productivity, unusual coloration, and rich taste also makes the fruits a wonderful choice for fresh salads and summer dishes.
