HARVARD SQUARE. A mid-sized, mid-season, highly productive tomato variety originating from the USA, possibly a spontaneous mutation of the famous "Copia" variety. Grows up to 1.4-1,5 meters tall in open ground. The plant forms strong bushes with good foliage coverage. Fruits are round-flattened, slightly ribbed at the stem end, weighing between 150 and 300 grams. They belong to the beefsteak type and have dense, juicy flesh.
The skin is bicolored — dark red with green stripes and streaks. When fully ripe, the fruits have a truly mesmerizing appearance. The flesh is green with marbled red patterns. Excellent, well-balanced flavor with pronounced sweetness and a fruity-spicy aftertaste. This variety is not only decorative but also highly appreciated for its culinary qualities — it won first prize at the 2014 Brussels competition.
The plant has moderate vigor, a slender stem, regular (non-potato) leaves, and indeterminate growth. It produces good and stable yields from mid-season onward. Fruit size may vary. Very productive, fruits set consistently, remain long on the plant, and are suitable both for fresh consumption and culinary use. A real treasure for collectors and gourmet lovers.
