HERSHEY BOAR. A mid-season, medium-height, high-yield tomato variety bred by renowned American breeder Brad Gates, founder of Wild Boar Farms. In open ground, plant height reaches approximately 1.0-1.2 meters. The plants are compact, well-leafed, disease-resistant, and require staking and pruning. Fruits are large, weighing from 100 to 300 grams, most often in the 150-200 g range. The shape is round, slightly ribbed at the stem. The skin is firm but not tough, providing good resistance to cracking. The color is striking — a deep dark red base with prominent dark green or nearly black stripes. The flesh is meaty, juicy, dark ruby-colored, with few seeds.
Thanks to its excellent flavor, this variety is ideal for fresh eating, salads, sauces, juices, or roasting. Taste is one of the variety’s strongest features — very rich and well-balanced, with pronounced fruity and berry notes. Sweetness and acidity are well balanced, resulting in a complex, multi-layered flavor with a pleasant aftertaste. The fruits store and transport well. Seeds were purchased directly from the original breeder in the USA, ensuring varietal purity and high quality.
