LARGE RED AND BLACK BOAR, USA. The variety was developed by Brad Gates. A mid-early stunner with large fruits in vivid, juicy shades: chocolate with green streaks and stripes. Very beautiful and unusual, shaped like a boat or slipper. The plant is strong, about 1.2 m tall in open ground, with 3-4 fruits per cluster, each weighing 400–500 g. Yield is above average. The fruits are highly aromatic, quite dense, without blemishes or cracks, and ripen fully without green shoulders.
The taste is remarkable — sweetness dominates with a touch of acidity, smoky, very flavorful, with a real tomato taste! The flesh is chocolate-purple with a strong aroma. This is a medium-height, mid-season, high-yielding variety. Fruits range from medium to large, up to 500 g, reddish-brown with dark green streaks.
It has a wonderful aroma and a bold, explosive flavor with a noticeable tang. If the fresh tomatoes seem slightly tangy, they are excellent in a salad with onions. Top marks for appearance and taste!
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
This rare and impressive tomato was bred by Wild Boar Farms. It is an indeterminate variety (with unlimited growth), features regular foliage, and provides a bountiful harvest. Fruits typically weigh between 200 and 350 grams, occasionally reaching up to 500 grams. They are round and slightly flattened with ribbing near the stem. The skin is brownish-red with metallic green stripes, giving them a unique and attractive appearance.
The flesh is juicy and meaty, with a rich, complex flavor reminiscent of the finest black tomatoes. This variety is ideal for fresh eating, especially in salads, and also makes excellent sauces. The plant has vigorous growth and requires support to hold its heavy fruits. It thrives in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and regular watering. This variety shows strong mid-season productivity — about 65–75 days after transplanting.
