MURICE. This Spanish tomato is also known as Peppermato Murice. A spectacular mid-season and high-yielding variety with a striking anthocyanin fruit coloration. The plant is vigorous, well-leafed, spreading, with thickened sturdy stems and medium-sized, dark green, simple foliage. The bushes develop actively and reach a height of about 1.5 m, producing a stable and prolonged yield. The fruits are plum-shaped with a characteristic pointed tip, dense, uniform, and very attractive in appearance. The primary color is a rich purple-violet with anthocyanin "shoulders." Note that the part of the fruit receiving less sunlight retains a delicate pink hue, creating a beautiful contrast.
The fruit surface is smooth, firm, with a pronounced glossy shine. The flesh is meaty, juicy, of a dense yet tender texture, without wateriness. The flavor is harmonious, richly sweet, with light fruity notes, very balanced and pleasant even when fully ripe. The average fruit weight is 150-250 g, making the variety versatile in use. The tomatoes are excellent for fresh consumption, slicing, salads, and also store and transport well without losing their marketable qualities. The variety is particularly valued for its combination of high yield, decorative appearance, and excellent flavor, making it a coveted specimen in the collections of enthusiasts of rare and anthocyanin-rich tomatoes.
