PERSUASION, USA. Variety author – Brad Gates, California. A rare variety with the vibrant colors of a natural artist. Mid-season variety, strong bush, 1.3 meters in open ground, bears fruit until frost. Each truss holds 4-6 fruits weighing 170-200 grams. The color is simply amazing. On the main red background, inky anthocyanin spreads from the stem in solid shoulders. Medium-height, mid-season, productive variety. Very beautiful fruits with excellent flavor. One of the hits of the 2017 season. The variety received top marks from us in all categories.
But in 2018, it turned out to be unstable – it segregates, loses anthocyanin coloration, and shows variation in taste. We had 3–4 forms: with blue and without, striped but no blue. We selected the one like in the photo, hoping it was a stray mix. It's a good variety but unstable and needs stabilization. Fruits often show green-golden strokes that almost blend with the base color as they ripen. Beautiful color transitions, stripes, and strokes. Dense red flesh, very aromatic, meaty, juicy, sweet. Highly recommended!
ANTHOCYANIN TOMATOES:
Anthocyanin-colored tomatoes differ from regular tomatoes by their unusual colors, which are caused by the presence of anthocyanin pigments. Anthocyanins are a group of natural pigments that give plants red, purple, and blue colors. Here are some types of anthocyanin tomatoes:
