RICCIO DI PARMA. In the province of Parma, this variety has been considered local for almost 200 years and is used in restaurants. The most beautiful variety of the 2019 season! No one believes it’s NOT a flower! Mid-early, the bush is strong, 1.2 meters tall, stems are thick, with 3-4 large fruits per cluster weighing 500-700 g. Uniquely beautiful flat-ribbed shape – like a drawing. Super variety, discovery of the year! Yield and taste are amazing! Who would have thought that these nightmarish, crooked, ribbed fruits could hide the sweetest tomato among the giants. The bushes were so powerful they tore the entire trellis.
The smallest fruit weighed 450 g, the largest – 960 g. When cut, the fruit amazed again with its intensely colored flesh. Unfortunately, a small photo cannot convey the real situation. Fruits are low in juice, consist mostly of flesh, with small cavities. Positives include super-high yield, wonderful sweet taste, and unique flesh color. However, this tomato doesn’t have a very neat appearance. Bright red and glossy! The cavities inside were minor and didn’t affect the taste much – the tomato had a rich tomato flavor and aroma, with very small seed chambers and just flesh in the middle.
