ROYAL HILLBILLY. Variety derived from a selection of "Hillbilly" made by Ruth Marcum, Oklahoma and bred by Darell Merrell. A high-yielding, tall, mid-season beefsteak tomato variety. The plant develops a strong stem with potato-like leaves and reaches over 1.5 meters in height in open ground, requiring staking and pruning for better air circulation and light exposure. The fruits are slightly ribbed near the stem, large, flat-round, weighing 200-400 g, with a dense, meaty texture.
The color is rich pink, the flesh is juicy and sweet with a slight pleasant tang. Thanks to its excellent taste, this tomato is perfect for fresh consumption, salads, slicing, as well as for making natural, tasty, and aromatic juice. It also has a distinctive, strong tomato aroma. The variety features stable yields, good transportability, and long shelf life, and is resistant to most common tomato diseases. Recommended for cultivation in open ground and under temporary shelters.
