SAINT JEAN D'ANGELY. An heirloom French variety originating from the commune of Saint-Jean-d'Angély, located in the Poitou-Charentes region, France. This tomato is part of the historical heritage of French horticulture, tested by time and generations. A tall, mid-season variety with powerful growth vigor. The plants are sturdy, resilient, with regular foliage, reaching about 1.5 m in height. They form a reliable bush with good fruit set and stable fruiting. The fruits are red, of an elongated "Andean horn" type, weighing 150-250 g.
Original descriptions mention weights up to 400 g, but under our conditions, the fruits formed within the stated average range. The tomatoes are neat, uniform, with a beautiful elongated shape. The flesh is very meaty, dense, with a minimal amount of gel and seeds — practically solid tomato "meat." The color is bright red both outside and inside. The taste is sweet, rich, harmonious, with a pronounced tomato aroma. The skin is strong and dense, ensuring good shelf life and transportability. The variety is distinguished by high yield, stability, and excellent taste qualities.
