SILESIAN RASPBERRY, SCHLESISCHE HIMBEERE. The heirloom beefsteak tomato “Silesian Raspberry” is an old, tall-growing variety originating from Silesia. It is a mid-season tomato, exceptionally fragrant and incredibly juicy, literally melting in the mouth. The fruits are meaty and rich in flavor, with subtle fruity notes and a perfectly balanced sweetness and acidity. Even in unfavorable years – during cold or rainy summers – this variety remains highly productive. The plant produces numerous medium to large fruits in an attractive raspberry-pink color. They are slightly ribbed, round-flattened, with thin and delicate skin, which makes them especially enjoyable fresh.
The average fruit weight ranges from 250 to 500 g, with some specimens even larger. The flesh is dense yet tender and melting, making this variety versatile – excellent for salads, fresh eating, as well as sauces and juices. The plant, with a simple leaf type, grows over 160 cm tall and requires staking and pruning. Silesian Raspberry is stress-resistant, reliable, and perfectly suited for cooler climates. Gardeners value this variety for its consistent yields, refined taste, and the unique aroma of a true traditional tomato.
