SERAFIMA, Latvia. A variety bred by Valdis Puliņš. Mid-season, indeterminate, growing up to 160 cm (5.2 ft) tall, with fruits weighing 250–500 g. The plants have sparse foliage and stand out for their exceptional ornamental appearance. The stems are strong, while the fruits have an unusual velvety surface—soft and pleasant to the touch rather than smooth like ordinary tomatoes. The thin, delicate skin resists cracking remarkably well. The spectacular golden fruits with vivid pink marbling are exceptionally sweet and richly flavored. An excellent choice for those who prefer soft, juicy tomatoes. This mid-season bicolor giant produces large, flattened beefsteak fruits with a unique matte finish.
The base color is golden yellow, beautifully overlaid with bright pink marbling. Plants reach up to 1.9 m (6.2 ft) in open ground and set 3–4 fruits per truss, each weighing 350–450 g. The fruits are heavy, free of cracks and green shoulders, with a perfectly matte skin. Inside, the fruit reveals intensely aromatic orange flesh with a striking bright red center—one of the most vivid flesh colors of the season. The flavor is outstanding: incredibly juicy, fruity, spicy-sweet, with a pleasant refreshing acidity and a rich, concentrated tomato taste. The flesh is tender, airy, and never watery. Top marks for beauty and outstanding flavor. Highly recommended!
