SERGEANT MARLEY (SERGEANT MARLEY). An original Ukrainian variety bred by Angelina Khilenko, created by pollinating the famous Sgt. Pepper's with pollen from Domingo-Marley. A mid-season, high-yielding variety that combines striking appearance, large fruit size, and outstanding flavor. The indeterminate plant grows to about 1.2 m (4 ft) outdoors. It is vigorous yet elegant, with a broad canopy and fine, spreading foliage.
The fruits are very large, weighing 450–500 g, mostly perfectly heart-shaped, occasionally broadly rounded. Their base color is raspberry-pink, while about one-third of the fruit is covered with rich blue-violet anthocyanin shoulders that develop under sunlight. The tomatoes are uniform, free of green shoulders, cracking, and other defects, giving them excellent market appeal. The flesh is exceptionally dense, meaty, almost solid, with very few seed cavities and minimal seeds. Productivity is consistently high.
FLAVOR
Flavor is one of this variety's greatest strengths. The flesh is juicy, buttery, exceptionally sweet, with a rich fruity-spicy aroma and almost no sharp acidity. The thin skin is barely noticeable when eaten. Thanks to its remarkable combination of spectacular appearance, heavy yields, and outstanding dessert-quality flavor, Sergeant Marley is considered one of the finest modern Ukrainian tomato varieties. Perfect for fresh eating, salads, slicing, and home cooking. It receives our highest rating for both beauty and flavor.
