PINK HEART OF EUPILIO (CUORE ROSA DI EUPILIO), Italy. A renowned Italian early-midseason variety combining high yields, large pink fruits, and an outstanding dessert flavor. It is prized for its reliable productivity, elegant heart-shaped fruits, and excellent adaptability to a wide range of growing conditions. The plant is indeterminate, reaching about 1.3 m in open-ground cultivation. It has moderate vigor, forming a compact yet sturdy bush that easily supports heavy crops. Each truss bears 5–6 fruits, resulting in consistently above-average yields.
The fruits are large, usually weighing 300–400 g, with a beautiful heart shape and a delicate pink color. The fruits have a smooth surface without cracking or green shoulders, giving them excellent market appeal. They ripen evenly on the vine while remaining firm and attractive. The variety is hardy, produces stable harvests even in less favorable weather, and shows increased resistance to the main tomato diseases. Heart-shaped tomatoes are highly valued among large-fruited varieties for their high flesh content, delicate texture, and rich flavor.
FLAVOR
The flesh is dense, meaty, and very juicy, with almost no hollow spaces and only a few seeds. The flavor is rich, sweet, and well-balanced, with a pronounced tomato aroma and a delicate fruity note. Thanks to its combination of large fruits, silky texture, and exceptional dessert quality, Pink Heart of Eupilio is considered one of the finest pink-fruited Italian tomato varieties. It is ideal for fresh eating, salads, homemade juice, sauces, and thick tomato paste.
