VERY SWEET BLUES. An original variety bred by Sofia Saakova. A tall, mid-season tomato with vigorous growth and consistently high productivity. Flavor is the main pride of this variety. Plants are strong, well-leafed, and easily support heavy fruit loads. In open ground, plants reach about 1.5 m in height (up to 2 m in greenhouses), showing excellent adaptability and resilience. Inflorescences are neat clusters, each bearing 5-7 uniform fruits weighing 100-200 g. Fruits are round to slightly flattened, marketable, with firm skin and an attractive appearance, and they tolerate harvesting and short-term transport well.
The coloration is striking and rare: a delicate yellow background densely covered with brush strokes and rays of inky anthocyanin from the stem end. This is a pronounced bicolor, where the contrast between yellow and deep blue looks especially decorative. With good sunlight, anthocyanin pigmentation develops to its maximum intensity. The flesh is dense, fruity, aromatic, and completely fills the fruit. Seed chambers are very small and few in number; the fruit consists mainly of solid sweet flesh without voids.
When cut, the flesh is bright, juicy, with beautiful color transitions. The taste is completely free of acidity—rich, vivid, intensely sweet, with a long, full-bodied aftertaste. This variety is ideal for fresh consumption, slicing, salads, and tastings, where pure sweetness and rich tomato aroma are highly valued. An excellent choice for collectors of rare and anthocyanin tomatoes, as well as for anyone seeking a truly dessert-quality flavor.
