CHOCOLATE DELIGHT. A proprietary variety bred by Sofia Saakova, which was in the F6 stabilization stage in 2024. It already shows a high level of uniformity, although occasional plants may still display slight segregation of traits. One of the most striking chocolate-fruited tomatoes in the collection, admired for its unusual coloration, large heart-shaped fruits, and outstanding dessert flavor. A mid-season indeterminate variety. In open ground, plants grow to about 1.5 m tall, producing strong stems and consistently setting large fruits.
The variety is highly productive. Fruits are large, heart-shaped, with elegant elongated tips, especially on the upper trusses. Average fruit weight is 250–350 g, while individual tomatoes may reach 500 g or more. The skin is chocolate-brick in color with green stripes radiating from the stem, giving the fruits a spectacular ornamental appearance. The flesh is a rich purple-chocolate color, dense, buttery, and exceptionally juicy. Seed cavities are small, while most of the fruit consists of tender, meaty flesh with a rich tomato aroma.
FLAVOR
The flavor is rich, harmonious, and dessert-like. Natural sweetness is perfectly balanced by a light refreshing acidity, while the intense tomato aroma makes this variety especially appealing to gourmets. The flesh literally melts in your mouth, leaving a long, pleasant finish. The fruits are perfect for fresh salads, vegetable platters, tastings, and homemade sauces. Chocolate Delight is one of Sofia Saakova's finest original creations, combining large chocolate-colored hearts, outstanding productivity, luxurious coloration, and an exceptionally sweet flavor with a delicate touch of acidity.
