FIRE CREST (CRESTA DI FUOCO), Italy. Medium-early, tall-growing, rare tomato variety from Italy, reaching a height of up to 1.8 meters. The fruits are chocolate-burgundy, round, with irregular heart-shaped folds or heart-shaped and elongated with slight ridges. The fruits are very dense, very meaty, low in juice, with a rich, sweetish, refreshing flavor and a strong aroma, weighing 200-350 grams.

This variety will be excellent for slicing, in salads, or for eating whole. The plant is wide and spreading. The fruits are large, plump, broad, cream-like ridges with longitudinal ridges along the entire fruit. Unusual rare color – chocolate-honey-bronze. When broken, there are small cavities, a meaty, rich flavor, with a balance of acidity and sweetness.

Despite being a late-maturing variety, it ripened all its fruit at once and actually outpaced some of the more 'thoughtful' varieties - which is a pleasant surprise. In my region (Latvia), earliness is an important factor. Though processing an entire ripened harvest at once isn’t easy, so I try to spread out the joy by planting varieties with different ripening times.

‘Fiery Crest’ is great for drying, though it also works well in salads — even if it can’t quite compete with classic salad tomatoes. The fruits vary in size and shape, very unusual — sure to please true tomato enthusiasts.

  • the approximate date of purchase (month and year);

  • how exactly the variety differs.

Please note: if the mix-up is due to the variety's instability or natural segregation (especially with rare blue or variegated types), we cannot influence that. These are the results of the breeders’ work, and such cases can occur.

If the error is on our part, we will gladly offer a replacement or refund for the specific variety. Replacements are available within 6 months from the date of purchase.
