IVAYLOVSKA KAPIA. A new unique Bulgarian sweet pepper variety of the Kapia type, originating from Hungary and widely distributed in Southeastern Europe. The plant is vigorous, indeterminate, with unlimited growth, densely foliated, with dark green leaves that protect the fruits well from sunscald. The variety is mid-early, characterized by stable yield and high adaptability. The fruits are long, 12-16 cm (sometimes up to 18 cm), quite wide — up to 9 cm, slightly flattened on the sides, smooth and very glossy.
The shape is typical of Kapia: with a single tip, triangular in longitudinal section, and round in cross-section. At the stage of technical ripeness, the color is dark green; at full ripeness, it becomes a rich dark red. The flesh is tender, slightly juicy, about 5 mm thick, with an excellent taste. The fruits are easily peeled after baking, and they retain their color and structure well during heat treatment. The variety is highly valued for its excellent taste and versatility: it is ideal for fresh consumption, making lyutenitsa, preserves, salads, and pickles.
