YARSON-18. Is a promising, relatively new tomato variety of Polish breeding, distinguished by its striking fruit appearance and outstanding flavor. It was developed by crossing the well-known varieties Copia × Malachite Box and bred by the Polish breeder Yarson. The variety is currently under further development, with several breeding lines available. The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, and well-leafed, reaching a height of 1.6-1.8 m. Flavor is one of the key strengths of this variety. It is intensely sweet, with a light fruity acidity and a delicate, refined aroma.
The plants are dense and strong, with a well-developed root system that reliably supports large fruits. This is a mid-season variety, characterized by stable and very high productivity. It is suitable for both greenhouse cultivation and open ground under good growing conditions. Fruits are large, flat-round, often with pronounced ribbing and broad, well-filled shoulders. The average fruit weight is 250-350 g, with some specimens reaching 400 g. The coloration is extremely decorative: a green-amber or light yellow background with dark green streaks and striping.
The skin is green with yellow patches and a bright red blush, especially pronounced at the top of the fruit, giving it a resemblance to Green Copia. The skin is thin yet strong, resistant to cracking, and provides excellent market qualities. The flesh is meaty and dense, green in color with red marbling in the center, very juicy and aromatic. The fruits are ideal for fresh consumption, salads, slicing, and tasting collections, where unusual coloration and complex, dessert-like flavors are especially appreciated.
