LIGURIA. USA. A mid-season, tall-growing variety originally from the USA. The fruits are pear-shaped, red, ribbed, firm, and dense. Some fruits have hollow spaces in the seed cavities, giving them a special beauty when sliced for sandwiches. The taste is balanced, combining sweetness with a slight tomato tang. It can be stored for a very long time without losing quality.
This variety is also very popular in Bulgaria. Tomato Liguria, Albenga variety. Also known as Coeur d'Albenga. In supermarkets, this tomato is often called "Coeur de Boeuf" or "Oxheart Tomato". However, Liguria looks less like an oxheart and more like a loose, heavily wrinkled pear. They are more hollow inside and contain more seeds but are significantly more productive.
TOMATO SHAPE
The original Coeur de Boeuf is better suited for slicing. Both tomatoes have excellent sweet taste and soft texture. The shape is closer to a "pouch" or "small bag" rather than a truffle. Very beautiful! A huge, powerful bush, 2.2 meters high, is completely covered with "pouches" weighing from 400 grams and more.
Until you see it with your own eyes, it’s hard to imagine this unforgettable sight! Upon cutting, you may notice some hollows (which is understandable given the fruit shape), but this does not affect the taste in any way. The fruits are juicy, very aromatic, and sweet. Highly recommended! Top marks for appearance!
