RIZADO DE MORATALLA, CURLY FROM MORATALLA. An ancient Spanish tomato variety, a true heritage of the Moratalla region, a municipality in the province of Murcia, Spain. This variety stands out for its high cultural value and unique organoleptic properties, preserved over many generations. The plants are tall, reaching 1.5-1.7 m in open ground. The stems are strong, with moderate foliage, supporting large fruits well without breaking under their weight. Each cluster produces 4-6 large, distinctly ribbed fruits of a rare brown color for tomatoes.
The fruits are flat-round in shape, weighing 150-300 g. They have pronounced ribbing near the stem, giving them a decorative and striking appearance. The tomato flesh is juicy, with minimal seeds and juice in the seed cavities, making them ideal both for garnishing dishes and for preparing salads and high-quality sauces. The taste is excellent — sweet, well-balanced, classic for old tomato varieties.
When cut, some seed cavities may have small hollows, typical for this type of variety. This tomato is well-suited for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, attracting attention with its unusual color, rich flavor, and culinary versatility.
