ELEPHANT’S FOOT (SLONOVA NOGA). A Serbian-bred variety distinguished by high yields and consistent fruiting. Mid-season: the period from germination to the first harvest averages 110-120 days. The plant is compact, about 60 cm tall, making it suitable for cultivation both in open fields and in greenhouses. Fruits are large, weighing 200-300 g, and under proper watering and favorable conditions, they can reach record sizes, placing this variety among the giants of sweet peppers.
The fruits have a regular shape with thick, fleshy walls. At the technical stage of ripeness they are light green, while at full biological ripeness they turn deep red. The flesh is juicy, sweet, and aromatic, making this variety highly valued both for fresh consumption and culinary processing. It is excellent for stuffing, canning, freezing, salads, and hot dishes.
The fruits retain their commercial appearance during long-distance transportation and maintain freshness for an extended period. This makes the variety attractive not only to home gardeners but also to farmers targeting the market. In summary, this Serbian variety combines high productivity, large fruit size, outstanding taste, and versatility. We recommend growing this pepper in open fields.
