THE CASTLE GHOST. A new variety bred by Sofia Saakova, originating from the “Sofia’s Bliss” family. A mid-season indeterminate variety with a long fruiting period. The plant is strong and vigorous, reaching about 2 m in height when grown outdoors, with large leaves. The variety is noted for its good productivity and prolonged fruiting period.
The fruits have an unusual broad-heart shape with a neat pointed tip, while some fruits are more elongated. The larger fruits weigh approximately 450–700 g, with some fruits also weighing 200–400 g. The coloration is complex and layered: the upper part of the fruit develops a dense ink-purple anthocyanin blush that extends onto the sides, where it combines with emerald, red, and green stripes.
The flesh is bright and tricolored, with red, green, and bronze shades. It is very juicy and tender, with thin skin that is barely noticeable when eating. The flavor is rich, fruity, and slightly spicy, with pronounced sweetness and a slight acidity. Due to the high juice content, fully ripe fruits are best enjoyed soon after being picked from the plant.
