YELLOWSTONE. Field tomato from Bulgaria. A striking, large-fruited variety for open-ground cultivation, valued for its consistent yields and vibrant appearance. This indeterminate plant has vigorous, continuous growth, forming a sturdy stem and dense foliage, so it requires staking and regular pruning. In open-field conditions, plants reach 1.8-2 m in height while maintaining strong resistance to major tomato diseases and temperature fluctuations. The fruits are large, round-flattened, and slightly ribbed, with a rich golden-yellow color and a delicate amber sheen. Average fruit weight ranges from 100 to 250 g, and with attentive care, some can be even larger.
The flesh is meaty and tender, with a pleasant sweet flavor and a subtle fruity note, making it ideal for fresh salads, slices, and colorful summer appetizers. When cooked, the tomatoes keep their sunny color and shape, so they are excellent for roasting, sauces, and preserving in wedges. This variety delivers abundant harvests throughout the season: clusters set fruit until the first frost, and tomatoes ripen evenly. ‘Yellowstone’ tolerates short cold spells, shows good crack resistance, and adapts easily to different soil types, making it a great choice for home gardens and small farms.
