CAROLINA GOLD. A mid-early, high-yielding variety with beautiful golden-ochre fruits and a rich, classic tomato flavor. Valued for its reliable productivity, attractive appearance, and high content of natural carotenoids. Indeterminate plants grow up to 1.4 m (4.6 ft) in open ground. The stems are thick and sturdy, while the broad foliage provides excellent protection for the fruit from intense sunlight. Each truss carries 5–6 tomatoes weighing 180–200 g (6.3–7.1 oz). Yields are consistently above average.
The fruits are flattened-round with a small pointed tip and a rich golden-ochre color. They ripen evenly, have excellent market appeal, and a firm, meaty texture. The variety is distinguished by its elevated content of lycopene, a natural antioxidant belonging to the carotenoid group that helps protect the body's cells from oxidative stress. Ideal for fresh salads, sliced vegetables, juices, sauces, and everyday home cooking.
FLAVOR
The flesh is dense, meaty, and highly aromatic, with 3–4 small seed cavities. The flavor is rich and well balanced, combining pleasant sweetness with a gentle acidity and a pronounced classic tomato aroma. Thanks to its firm flesh, beautiful golden color, and outstanding taste, Carolina Gold is considered one of the finest large-fruited yellow tomato varieties.
