MERISHOR. An early-ripening, high-yielding sweet pepper variety developed by Moldovan breeders at the Vegetable Research Institute. The variety is regionally adapted and belongs to the well-known Gogoshar group; however, unlike many representatives of this group, it is completely free of bitterness and has a mild, sweet, and well-balanced flavor. The ripening process is gradual and very decorative: at first the peppers are light yellow, then they turn a rich orange, and at full biological maturity they become bright red.
On the plant they look like small flowers, giving the impression of an exceptionally beautiful and ornamental bush. The fruits are round, dense, and weigh up to 150 grams. The wall thickness is 5–6 mm, which makes them versatile and particularly valuable for culinary use. A single plant produces a large number of uniform, neat peppers, and the variety shows stable and abundant fruit set even under fluctuating weather conditions.
Merishor peppers are perfect for stuffing: their firm walls and compact size make it easy to prepare neat, portioned dishes. The variety is ideal for freezing, baking, pickling, and for creating refined and aesthetically pleasing gourmet dishes. Thanks to their sweet flavor and beautiful color transition, these peppers are widely used not only in home cooking but also in restaurant cuisine.
