SOPHIA’S BLISS. Authorial breeding by Sofia Saakova. One of the bright, emotional, and memorable varieties in Sofia's breeding work. The breeder herself calls it: "my favorite and my pride," and this definition is fully justified by both the appearance of the fruits and their taste. This variety became a true finale chord, spectacularly concluding the season and the presentation of the author's collection. The plant is indeterminate, powerful, well-balanced. It reaches a height of about 1.8 m. The variety is mid-season, with prolonged fruiting, consistently yielding until the end of the season. The bushes are strong, hold large fruits well, and exhibit high viability.
The fruits are round-flattened, tall-flat, very large, and exceptionally beautiful. Weight varies widely — from 200 to 450-500 g. The coloring is a true color extravaganza: burgundy, emerald, ochre, and purple hues intertwine, complemented by a pronounced anthocyanin blush. The fruits seem to shimmer, "glow," creating an effect of neon depth. Each tomato is unique, like a separate work of art. The flesh is tender, meaty, moderately juicy, with a minimal number of seeds. This is the result of years of meticulous and hard work on selection and stabilization.
The flavor is outstanding, rating 5+: very sweet, rich, with pronounced fruity notes and a rich aftertaste. It is a dessert tomato, an impression tomato, one you want to taste again and again. The variety is distinguished by high flavor stability, but, like many complex authorial forms, it may exhibit segregation, which is important for collectors and amateur breeders to consider. Bliss of Sophia is a true symbol of her breeding: emotional, beautiful, memorable, and deeply authorial. A variety that remains in memory forever and rightfully holds a special place in any collection of rare tomatoes.
