BULGARIA. A unique variety bred by Vitaliy Alifirov. An early-midseason, highly productive tomato with large golden-orange fruits and exceptionally dense flesh. It is prized for its rare deep golden fruit color and richly colored juice of the same shade. The plant is indeterminate, reaching up to 1.6 m (5.2 ft) in open ground, with moderate vigor and slightly drooping foliage. Each truss produces 5–6 fruits weighing 200–350 g (7–12 oz). Yields are consistently above average.
The fruits are large, with a rich ochre-golden to deep orange color. Their shape varies from flattened heart-shaped to elongated round. One of the variety's most distinctive features is its deep golden juice, an exceptionally rare characteristic among tomatoes. The fruits are rich in natural carotenoids, including lycopene, which contribute to their intense coloration. The flesh is extremely dense, buttery, almost seedless, and virtually free of cavities. Thanks to its high flesh content, this variety is ideal for thick juices, sauces, tomato paste, and fresh salads.
FLAVOR
The flesh is meaty, tender, and highly aromatic. The flavor is rich, well-balanced, and classically tomato-like, combining pleasant sweetness with a light refreshing acidity. This is not a honey-sweet dessert tomato, but a variety with a deep, full-bodied flavor that truly shines fresh or in homemade preserves. Its rare deep golden color, nearly solid flesh, and consistently high productivity make Bulgaria one of Vitaliy Alifirov's most remarkable creations.
