SHAR-PEI (ZHOU PI LA JIAO). A rare Chinese variety that attracts attention not only with its name but also with its bright flavor character. The heat level is about 10,000 Scoville Heat Units — a moderate, comfortable level of spiciness: perceptible but not aggressive. The ideal balance for those who like piquancy without extreme fire. The fruits have a pronounced smoky-fruity aroma, with sweetness and light spicy depth. The fruits are of an unusual turban-like shape, wrinkled, decorative.
Thanks to this flavor profile, the variety is excellent for making sauces, jams, marinades, and caramelization. In processing, it reveals itself especially brightly — the flavor becomes more saturated and multifaceted. The variety was developed in Siberian breeding conditions, giving it good adaptability and stable yield. The plant is powerful, compact, up to 1 meter tall. At biological maturity, they acquire a deep red color.
