BRANDYWINE SUDDUTH'S STRAIN, USA. A tomato variety with potato leaf foliage. Indeterminate (about 1.7 m tall), fruits are round and slightly flattened, weighing between 200 and 400 g. Planting scheme — 5 plants per square meter. Fruit-bearing period — about 5 weeks.
Fruits are uniform, with a rich pink color, meaty, juicy, and sweet, with a deep, vivid flavor and a distinctive aroma typical of old tomato varieties. The taste is complex — a perfect balance of sweetness and a subtle tang. This variety is a family heirloom derived from the legendary Brandywine line.
Known since the late 19th century. Despite its age, in 2016 at a prestigious tomato festival in the USA, this variety was ranked among the top ten for flavor out of over 600 varieties. As with other heirloom tomatoes, its taste may vary slightly depending on seasonal weather, but it consistently holds a place among the world’s best family heirloom varieties.
